Canada A to Z.....It's finally out!

Through multiple cover, title and layout changes, the finished product of Canada A to Z is here!
Written by myself, my sister and my Grandmother, this book is a mix of Canadian history and poetry.
On each page there is one word for each letter of the alphabet; a word that we feel is relevant to Canada.  Then there will be either a poem or a quote, and a quick blurb about the word and how it influenced (or influences) Canada. They are available in softcover and I will be selling them at the Orangeville Farmer's market on August 20th.  We hope to get them in stores closer to Canada Day.  You can find my Grandmother at www.virginiamay.com

Canada A to Z

Hello again!
I am especially excited for Canada's 150th birthday in 2017, (not only for the 150th birthday which is exciting in itself) but because I, along with my Grandmother and sister, are writing a book, titled Canada A to Z - In Commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Canada's Confederation.  This book consists of a collection of poems that the other authors and I wrote and quotes from historical figures.  We will try to get it published by 2017- In time for Canada's 150th birthday!  We are currently working on the poems, photographs and layout of the whole book, all of which are almost done!  I want to thank my Grandma who came up with this whole idea.  Hopefully it will be available soon!

Winter

Winter is almost here!  Not too recently, it snowed!  There are so many different forms of snowflakes. There are ones that look like exquisite crystals, the ones that look like miniature hail and the giant fluffy ones that are great for building snow forts and snowmen :)!  Winter can get a bit old though, by March I am normally tired of it!  One good thing about winter is that you have more time to write.  Plus winter break!  Also there are so many holidays around this time of early winter, Christmas, Winter Solstice, Hanukkah, and many more.  Even if you don't celebrate any holidays around this time, you still can have fun with all the festive atmosphere!
                                                    Happy Holidays everyone!

Autumn

Autumn

Leaves crunching under foot,
Crows in the wheat field,
Singing their lonely song.
And the wind blows softly to sway the trees,
And the full moon shines all night long.
And the grass turns brown, as it whispers it's cry,
That autumn is here at last.

Deer

Hooves softly bounding,
On the dark brown forest floor.
Antlers tall and strong.

Deer.

The Dive

With the sun in my eyes,
There is nothing else I can see,
As I start to dive.
I bend and gracefully curve,
Into the water.
I feel my hands go in,
While my legs are still exposed,
To air.
My hands skim the bottom of the lake,
And I go up, up.
I break the surface of the water,
And I take a deep breath,
As I swim back to the dock to go again.
